Virginia – A Place For Family Vactions
Virginia is a great place to spend a family vacation. It has something for everyone.
If you like lounging on the beach then Virginia Beach is for you. It is one of the most popular beaches in the country. If you are more of an outdoorsman, there are plenty of wooded areas. You can hike the Appalachian Trail or explore a cavern. There are even state and federal parks where you can fish. If amusement parks are more your style, Busch Gardens (which also contains a waterpark) and Kings Dominion are two of the more popular parks, but there are several smaller ones and even a few zoos.
There are many historical sites to visit in Virginia. For example, it is the site of Colonial Williamsburg, one of the earliest American settlements. It is also the site of Yorktown, where General Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington. In addition, both Mount Vernon and Monticello are in this state and are popular attractions. Other areas worth seeing are the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.
